Blepharoplasty (Operation of the eyelids)

With advance of age the eyelid skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, looses turgor. Puffiness may involve bot upper and lower eyelids. Int he course of surgery, the loose, wrinkled skin, and the protruding subcutaneous fat is partially removed. As a result, not only the occular area but the entire face will have a younger looking appearance.

The operation is nearly alwaays done under local anesthesia, frequently in conjunction with facial surgery as well. It is followed by a few hours of post-op observation and ice application. Patients may leave with assistance. Lifting heavy objectss, bending, use of sauna, tanning boths, are forbidden. Sunglasses are recommended in case of bright sunlight. 4-5 days of taking CATAFLAN (anti inflammatory analgetic) is recommended.The results of the surgery compensate for the discomfort with a long lasting, youthful look.During the first visit, the surgical technique, direction of incision, recovery, complications are discussed in detail.
